WHERE & WHEN

All classes meet throughout the church on Wednesdays from 6:45pm to 8:15pm. Class lengths vary from 5 weeks to 13 weeks.  Classes are also offered periodically on Sunday mornings during the Adult Bible Fellowship hour.  For a current schedule of classes, click here.

MATERIALS

Supplemental materials are available for purchase through the class or from our online bookstore.

CORE MODULES

Acts 2:42 Groups

Monday, December 28th, 2009

WHAT ARE ACTS 2:42 GROUPS?

Community groups are the basic units for Christian fellowship, connection, care, and discipleship at The Creek. In keeping with the pattern of the early church, these groups meet in homes and serve as a compliment to our corporate worship on Sundays. Our desire is to see people deepen their love for God as they develop authentic, love-driven relationships with fellow brothers and sisters in Christ

WHEN DO THEY MEET?

barkerOur community groups run in a cycle we like to call, “3 tens and a break.” We offer 10-week long small group sessions in the fall, winter, and spring with breaks between each session. During the summer, the groups do not meet. In order to participate in a community group, you must sign up at the beginning of a 10-week session. We offer a directory of groups, and you can choose an appropriate group, provided there is room in the group. We offer groups on the basis of geography, stage of life, and interest. If you desire to plug into a group during one of the 10-week sessions, every 5 weeks we start a “trial” group, which lets you experience our small group format. After the trial group, you are free to sign up for a regularly meeting group before the next 10-week session begins.

WHAT DO YOU STUDY?

karasOne of the major FAQ’s relates to curriculum. The curriculum is the sermons from the previous Sunday service. We believe this is one of the strengths of our program. This allows you to dig deeper into the teaching from Sundays. Additionally, you have the valuable experience of applying the message to life situations in the context of a small group of fellow believers.

Sunday morning services are centerpiece of our ministry. Because our groups supplement and support our Sunday services it is critically important to get plugged into a group! So, how do you get connected to an Acts 2:42 community group ?

HOW DO I GET CONNECTED?

We encourage you to get on “The City” (our church communication software) and we can help you from there to get connected to a group that would best suite your needs.

To get on the city please send an email to: thecity@willowcreekbaptistchurch.com. In the email please indicate your interest in the Act 2:42 groups.

We encourage you to get on “the city” (our church communication software) and we can help you from there to get connected to a group that would best suite your needs. To get on the city please send an email to thecity@willowcreekbaptistchurch.com

What is “The City?”

The City is The Creek’s online network. Rather than encouraging virtual community, the purpose of The City is to enhance actual relationships within the church. Community groups use The City to share prayer requests, announce upcoming events, as well as general communication within the group.” Any group you serve with or share community with you will find that group on The City. The City is open to anyone who attends The Creek. In addition to joining a community group, participating on The City is one of the primary ways we encourage people to connect with the The Creek family. To join the The City, please send an email to thecity@willowcreekbaptistchurch.com or stop by the info desk at The Creek.

What about my kids?

We offer great ministries from the nursery on up. If you have children 5th grade and under, you will need to check them in at our Creek Kids kiosk (straight ahead as you enter the front doors). You will be asked to register your children in our secure database. This information provides us with essential family and emergency contact information and will allow us to keep you informed on the latest news and events for Creek Kids.
Children are issued a nametag with a unique identification code when checking-in. The parent will be given a receipt with the matching identification number(s) to submit in order to pick-up their children.
At Willow Creek, we place a high priority on security. We want to provide a safe and secure place for your children to learn and grow. All of our children’s ministry volunteers must be members of The Creek and pass a standard background test.

How do I learn about joining The Creek?

The first step to joining The Creek is signing up for a Meet the Creek Class. You can sign up on any given Sunday in the bulletin or click here to sign up now.

Why is your road not paved?

The road leading to The Creek is actually a service road that will one day be a public street named South 8th Street. Once the land around us is commercially developed it will be paved.
